Cellulite, Summer's Enemy.

Cellulite is one of the skin conditions that cause the most aesthetic worry. It is recognized by a number of very distinctive dimples which are usually around the thighs, buttocks and other body area with large areas of fat near the skin.

Although usually affects more women than men, men also can suffer from this problem. One of the biggest incorrect myths regarding cellulite is its association with being overweight.  Losing weight will not to wipe out cellulite. The tendency to develop cellulite has more to do with the hereditary factors.

To understand better ... With obesity, the skin is smooth, adipocytes increase in size, their distribution is widespread and dietary treatment works. In contrast, with cellulite, the skin is rough, bumpy and has an "orange peel" aspect, it is more common in women, there is an alteration of adipocytes, the distribution is localized and dietary management alone is not a solution.
Cellulite triggers
- Hormonal: influence on the blood flow and the synthesis of lipids (puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, birth control, etc).
- Vasculares: Fragilidad capilar, pérdida de elasticidad, endurecimiento de los vasos, varices, microtraumatismos (hematomas).
- Vascular: capillary fragility, loss of elasticity, hardening of the vessels, varicose veins, microtraumas (hematoma).
- Genetics: gynoid constitution. Higher in Latin women than Scandinavian women.
- Food: overeating (lipogenesis), excess salt (fluid retention), poor water and fluid intake, a deficient consumption of vegetables and an unbalanced and / or poor diet.
- Lifestyle: inactivity, lack of exercise, poor posture, tight clothing, excessive heat, inadequate footwear and smoking.
Why does cellulite form?
Underlying skin support walls known as fibrous septae, do not maintain the skin connected in a uniform manner. This causes an irregular appearance, with the habitual dimples.
Types
We can recognize several basic types of cellulite:
Aqueous:
• Increases water retention.
• Increase in volume and size.
 • Less uniform and smooth appearance of the skin.
 Lipidic:
 • Accumulation of lipids and water.
 • Degeneration of the connective tissue.
 • Pain.
 • Associated with circulatory problems.

To fight it is essential to maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly. An effective cosmetic treatment for cellulite should act on these levels:
- Circulatory (draining and toning).
- Connective Tissue (restructuring).
- Adipose tissue (lipolytic).
Nanotechnology is the most innovative solution to combat cellulite. Liposomes have a higher active ingredient penetration power, eliminate fats, reduce the volume and reinforce the internal structure of the skin.
Caffeine, for example, stimulates lipolysis in adipocytes, stimulates the breakdown of the triglycerides of adipocytes and reduces the volume of adipocytes.
Carnitine reduces the high level of triglycerides and cholesterol. Its deficiency prevents fats from being transported to places where energy is burned. It promotes the degradation of triglycerides in adipose tissue.
In summary, any product that seeks to eliminate cellulite should include the following:
1èLIPOLYTIC ACTION: favour the elimination of localized fat in skin tissues. Reduce the formation of new fat.
2èVENOTONIC ACTION: Activate microcirculation in the affected area, favour the removal of accumulated fluids and reduce volume.
3èFIRMING – RESTRUCTURING ACTION: Strengthen the internal structure of the tissue, provide a firm, smooth aspect, and eliminating the “orange peel” appearance.

Sesderma USA renews its immage

Improvements in the graphical interface, navigation, and programming of the site

In the process of renewing Sesderma’s branding, the website plays a very important role. Soon we plan to roll out an entirely new website,  but until that happens we have given our currentt US web site a makeover.

Some work made was to make better use of space on the site, and compact important information in order to facilitate navigation.

The navigation menus have been completely re-designed and duplicate menus have been eliminated to in order to make navigation less confusing, and more direct with a uniform style.

The variety of colors was reduced, and the cooperate grey color is now the predominant color on the site.

The image and style have been changed. The banner images are cleaner and more subtle, in line with the new company image.

The text font and color has also changed and font sizes have been adjusted. This change provides a more modern style to the Web, and incorporates the our new logos.

Check out the before and after images  below, and by visiting http://www.sesderma.com/usa/index.php

Sesderma Renews Its Image

Almost a year ago we presented a new logo!  The logo change was the first step in a complete rebranding that will take place.   We choose the slogan "listening to your skin" because our objective is to give your skin what it needs to stay healthy.

Now we are ready to present the design that will eventually mark the packaging of Sesderma products. Cul de Sac has followed a long Sesderma identity study to understand what our business philosophy is, and what makes us who we are.

The image to the right is an example of the packaging of the dermatological ‘HEALTH’ line. It is predominantly white, representing its therapeutic nature. The ‘BEAUTY’ line corresponds to our dermocosmetic line and is mainly colored. In addition, the NANOTECH logo appears on products which contain active ingredients encapsulated in liposomes. The logo shown here is a representation of a nanosome, and its designs consists of a series of concentric connected circles. The center contains the letters NT, referring to NANOTECH, a concept that from now on will identify nanotechnology at Sesderma. It is important to understand and know how to explain this because a large part of our products from now on will use nanotechnology.
Keep an eye out, because soon we will be re-designing our website to fit the new cooperate image.

C-Vit Liposomal Serum receives award for "Most innovative anti-aging product of 2011"

Our C-Vit Liposomal Serum won the prize as the Most Innovative Anti-aging Product in 2011’ in the 'Cosmetic and Pharmacy Awards'! The sixth edition of these awards, organized by the Spanish weekly magazine ‘Correo Farmacéutico’, broke the participation record with a total of 120 nominations, and 1,137 votes, a figure that far exceeds previous editions.

After passing an initial screening of a panel composed of José Carlos Moreno, president of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology, Cristina Tiemblo, national voice of the “Consejo General de Colegios Farmacéuticos” through the“Vocalía Nacional de Dermofarmacia” and Mª Jesús Lucero, professor at the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Seville; actual pharmacists were the those who determined that this product was the most innovative, giving even more merit to this award.

Other products that came in behind the C-VIT Liposomal Serum in the same category were products from Avéne, SkinCeuticals, Caudalie and Lierac.
In 2007 another Sesderma product, specifically Fillderma Nano, received the same recognition.

As seen on 'People en Español' December 2011

Article in People Español which talks about our Ferulac Liposomal Anti-aging system!
.

Our Most Recent Scientific Advancement: NanoDermatology as an active ingredient transporter.

Advanced technology allowing products to achieve the highest possible performance, enabling skin care professionals to achieve superior results while treating a broad range of skin conditions: acne, hyper pigmentation, post inflammatory, vitiligo, psoriasis, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, skin regeneration, stretch marks, scars, anti-aging (wrinkles, flaccidity, dark circles, eye bags, and telangiectasias), photo aging, body treatments, etc.

Nanotechnology The concept is very simple. Nanotechnology has been in the news for quite sometime now and it is one of the most innovative technologies for treating different complications related to the skin, body and hair. It is undoubtedly a medical technology however, it combines science, physics, chemistry, biology and engineering. Nanometer-sized particles are very tiny and can only be seen using powerful microscopes. These microscopic granules can penetrate into deeper layers of the skin, penetrating all the way though epidermis, producing astonishing results. Take into consideration that the external nanosome layer is the same as that of human cell membranes; therefore they are absorbed quickly by penetrating the epidermis and start functioning immediately unlike any other skin care products which can only arrive to the skins surface.

Nanotechnology is enriching the benefits of our skin, body, and hair care products and has taken our company to a whole new level. Nano skin-care technology is an advanced technology and can ensure greater benefits for our users. It not only is responsible for the improvement of different skin, body, hair care and cosmetic products, but is also one of the most sought-after technologies being used in the manufacture of all Dermo-cosmetic products.

Our nano skin care technology involves the inclusion of nano particles whose size in contrast to the thickness of human hair is 80,000 times smaller, therefore products can penetrate deeper into the skin without our immune system rejecting them, producing beneficial results.

Aside from being used as an innovative active ingredient transporter for skin and body care, the application of Nanotechnology in our dermo-cosmetics products is also an excellent solution which provides incomparable results because even empty nanosomes (those without active ingredients encapsuladed within them) have an amazing ability to heal, nourish, moisturize and protect the skin.

Within the range of nanosome products for professional use, we would like to highlight the Ferulac professional and homecare line, a peeling system to treat and prevent the symptoms of photo aging (wrinkles, flaccidity, a non-uniform skin color, sun/age spots…), dry and rough skins, give an immediate lifting effect, a clear youthful looking skin, and immediately visible results in the cheekbone and eye contour areas, making this one of the most valuble and benificial products to our clients.

Nanosomes with encapsulated active ingredients are fit for any skin and photo type including dark and sensitive skins, are suitable at any time of year, and even improve acne prone skins. It also can be improved, depending on the pathology, by combining it with our mist system.

The peeling system is made with ferulic, phloretin, fruit acids and retinoids. The main ingredient in the product line is ferulic acid, an active ingredient abundantly present in the walls of plant cells (rice, wheat, oats, soy). Its properties underline a powerful antioxidant activity, not only capable of capturing free radicals which cause cellular damage, but also strengthening the effectiveness of other natural antioxidants such as Vitamin C and E, maintaining the cellular DNA. As a photo protector it diminishes UVB and UVA rays minimizing solar damage.

As an anti-inflammatory, it reduces the area of edema and as a depigmentant, it diminishes the tyrosine enzyme activity, responsible for the production of melanin within the melanocyte, which is where the cell produces melanin.

Phloretin, another active ingredient in the Ferulac Product line, acts synergistically with ferulic acid, empowering its antioxidant activity, in addition to facilitating the penetration of the other active ingredients. Also it inhibits elastase activity, the protein responsible for the degradation of the elastin fibers in the dermal matrix.

Fruit acids (malic, citric and lactic acid) enhance the exfoliating properties of the treatment, retinoids act on the deepest layers of the skin stimulating, repairing and protecting the collagen, and clarifying spots to regulate melanocyte activity.

The peel may be applied weekly, and in a few sessions the texture and roughness of the skin begins to improve. It becomes lighter in color, and shows a spectacular lifting effect.
